Theatre Delicatessen | Inspiring artists. Transforming spaces.
Theatre Delicatessen will be hosting Edinburgh Previews in London this Summer.
Do You Want To Be Part of PREVIEWS IN THE PARK & SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT at the Old Library this July?
Theatre Deli exists to support theatremakers and artists in the creation of their work, which for many of you includes a long month of full of theatre and comedy (and, let’s be honest, booze), up in Edinburgh. For just £100 a night hire fee (including get in, tech & get out), we’re offering artists one of our special preview slots at our new cosy house in Burgess Park.
This preview season is slightly different, as each night will have it’s own unique identity inspired by the festival madness: part one will be your preview, and part two will be something completely different.
What does that mean? Well, imagine an hour long theatre or comedy show. And now imagine a bingo night, barbershop quartet performance, juggling workshop or a pub quiz. Put them both together – and that’s what Previews in the Park & SCD is all about!
Anything goes, so we’d love to hear from you if our venue and technical specifications suit your show. Edinburgh previews are a great way for Theatre Deli to engage with new artists and collectives, and we’d would also like to hear what other ‘completely different’ ideas to follow your show you might have in mind!
Please see all the details below including cost breakdown, technical specifications and marketing info. If you have any other questions, please email email@example.com
Applications deadline is 22nd June, 12pm. Please note that all applications must be done via this form. Unfortunately email applications cannot be considered.
A flat hire fee of £100 per show, with a £30 deposit to be paid upon contract signing.
The box office split will be managed as following:
You will receive 60% of the box office takings (after Eventbrite and card transaction fees). Please note that £1 of each ticket will be passed on to the ‘Something Completely Different’ artist.
To keep your cash flow as healthy as possible, we will deduct the remaining hire fee of £70 from your box office split. However, please note that you are liable for the full payment of the hire fee in case your box office split doesn’t reach £70.
In case you require a technician to operate your show, Theatre Deli can provide one at £10 per hour. This must be agreed in advance.
The Old Library’s capacity is 75 people (not including staff) and tickets for this season will cost £10 full price / £8 concessions / and five tickets per show at £5 for local residents from SE5, SE15 & SE17 postcodes.
This means that if you sell 19 full price tickets, you’re only £2 away from covering your full hire cost. We, of course, encourage you strive to sell at least double that amount…
This season will run every Thursday, Friday & Saturday (and an initial Sunday) night between 9th & 29th July. The previews will begin at 7:30pm and you will have 3 hours for technical get-in and run from 4pm-7pm (with doors opening at 7pm).
Storage – please be prepared to remove all your set and props on the same day, as we do not have storage facilities at the Old Library.
